Dr. Salavat Aglyamov is a Research Associate Professor of Biomedical Engineering at the University of Houston. He earned his B.S. and M.S. degrees in Applied Mathematics from Moscow State University, Russia in 1991 and 1993, respectively, and received a Ph.D. in Biophysics in 1999 from the Institute of Theoretical and Experimental Biophysics in Pushchino, Moscow Region, Russia. Prior to joining the University of Houston in 2017, Dr. Aglyamov completed postdoctoral fellowships at the University of Michigan and the University of Texas at Austin.
Dr. Aglyamov’s research interests include tissue biomechanics, elastography, medical imaging, ultrasound, optical coherence tomography, photoacoustics, laser-tissue interaction and applied mathematics.
